Kristen Fischer, MSW, LMSW, NSW-C

Kristen Fischer has been a kidney transplant social worker for two decades, working with recipients and donors to help them prepare for and be successful with transplant. She has been actively involved with NKF for many years as a presenter and Spring Clinical Meetings planning committee member. She is a strong advocate for nephrology social workers and for recipients’ access to kidney transplant. She is currently the Professional Education Chair on the NKF Council of Nephrology Social Workers Executive Committee. In addition to her work with ESRD patients, Kristen also serves on her health system’s Clinical Ethics Committee, and provides education and on ethical decision-making and moral distress, as well as support to staff and patients/families.
