Transplant Advisory Committee Member
Dr. Husain is a transplant nephrologist and clinical investigator at Columbia University. He received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College prior to pursuing his medical degree from New Jersey Medical School and master’s degrees in epidemiology and biomedical informatics from Columbia. His medical training was split between Tufts Medical Center (internal medicine) and Columbia University Medical center (nephrology and transplant nephrology).
At Columbia, Dr. Husain’s clinical work focuses on living kidney donors and kidney transplant recipients. His research, which has been funded by the National Kidney Foundation’s Young Investigator Grant and a K23 award from the NIDDK, focuses on access to transplantation, kidney allocation, and the evaluation of living and deceased kidney donors.
