Jennifer Miller, LICSW

CNSW Membership Chair

Hello Everyone!  Happy Fall!

Fall is a time of year for many changes. The leaves are changing colors, going from green to yellows, oranges, and reds. For many of us there is a temperature change from warm daytime hours to cool crisp evenings and early mornings. These changes mean that we are likely to be spending more time indoors. What a perfect time, perhaps with a hot beverage in hand, to take stock of your professional supports, explore ways to expand your networks, and most importantly join CNSW! I know through CNSW, I have made many invaluable professional connections and lifelong friends.

Please continue to encourage all of your colleagues to join CNSW and take advantage of the many benefits of membership, such as:

CRN Membership Updates

Carol Lim, RD, LD
CRN Membership Chair
CRN Region IV Representative

Happy Fall 2022 to Council of Renal Nutrition members!  As the CRN Membership Chair, I wanted to help you stay connected with your patients and other healthcare professionals by providing you with resources available from NKF.

Stumped by a healthcare question?  Check out the A-Z Guide.  There are a wide range of topics on kidney disease, nutrition modality options, and living with CKD.  There are also Spanish-language materials.  Also note, the Council of Renal Nutrition has developed articles on Superfoods fact sheets.

Don’t have time to read an article?  NKF has three podcast available for patients as well as healthcare professionals.  Check out these podcasts options:

1.  Hot Topics in Kidney Health:  Highlights the latest in kidney research, dispels myths, brings you up-to-date news in kidney care, and answers questions from patients to help them live well with kidney disease or a transplant.

2.  Life as a Nephrologist:  A podcast on aspects of the nephrology profession.

3.  Kidney Commute:  Provides CEU opportunities as well as enhances the work of the inter-professional kidney care team by providing connections through education.
