Amy Lemke, PhD, LISW has 20 years of experience serving as a nephrology social worker. Her experience ranges across the trajectory of chronic kidney disease from pre-renal outpatient dialysis to in-center hemodialysis, kidney transplantation, as well as palliative and hospice care. Her research agenda focuses upon factors influencing the coping responses of seriously ill individuals, particularly uncertainty and perceptions of personal control. She currently is a clinic coordinator as well as clinical social worker at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, IA.
