Bradley A. Warady, M.D., is Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine; and Director, Division of Nephrology/Dialysis and Transplantation at Children's Mercy Kansas City. In addition to his role as a clinician, Dr. Warady is internationally recognized as a writer and researcher in the field of pediatric nephrology, currently serving as senior editor of the textbook Pediatric Dialysis and principal investigator of the National Institutes of Health-funded Chronic Kidney Disease in Children study and a variety of other studies pertaining to pediatric kidney care.
Dr. Warady has taken advantage of his opportunity as an NKF Board Member to do what he has done throughout his career: advocate for children affected by kidney disease. He helped initiate a successful collaboration between the National Kidney Foundation, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Society of Pediatric Nephrology to enhance educational materials available for patients and families. He also recently co-chaired the first NKF Scientific Workshop on Chronic Kidney Disease in Children, a unique forum because of its inclusion of patients and parents to help develop practical treatment recommendations designed to improve the care of children with kidney disease.
Dr. Warady’s work with children has inspired him to advocate for children affected by kidney disease.
