NKF Programs

Rare Disease Roundtable

NKF Serving the National Capital Area hosted its first ever Rare Disease Roundtable on January 22 drawing more than 50 professionals to network and learn more about various rare kidney diseases including Atypical Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome, Primary Hyperoxaluria, Lupus Nephritis, APOL1-Mediated Kidney Disease, and IgA Nephropathy. The presentations received excellent reviews from participants who also appreciated the interactive Q&A opportunities. Sincere thanks to our corporate supporters: Alexion, Amgen, Calliditas, Novo Nordisk, and Vertex.

Home Dialysis Community Education Program

We were pleased to partner with DaVita, for a free, comprehensive educational program for the National Capital Area kidney community focused on empowering patients to consider home dialysis as a viable treatment option. The event featured a panel of medical experts and patients sharing pertinent information and their experiences before a live Q&A session. Additionally, exhibitor booths from local transplant centers, dialysis providers, and others in the kidney health community provided more information for patients. Thank you to Baxter, Infinite Legacy, Natera, and NxStage for their support. Please contact ashwani.jain@kidney.org for more information.
