Date: Saturday, October 26, 2024
Location: Freedom Plaza, Washington DC
Time: 8:30 AM Registration Begins, 10:30 AM Kidney Walk Begins

Calling all Kidney Walkers! Are you ready? This October, National Capital Area residents can make every step count in the fight against kidney disease. Registration is now open for the 2024 National Capital Area Kidney Walk on Saturday, October 26, which allows local residents, loved ones, volunteers and businesses to join us in our mission to make a difference in the lives of our friends and neighbors affected by kidney disease. We believe in the power of community and the lasting impact we can make toward a common goal - kidney equity for all! NKF’s Kidney Walk is the nation’s largest walk to fight kidney disease and a signature community fundraiser for the NKF that allows families affected by kidney disease to join together in hope and solidarity. Funds raised through participant support allow the NKF to launch public educational awareness campaigns that shine a bright light on kidney disease, a national public health crisis affecting 37 million Americans, particularly among communities of color.

Sign up today by clicking the button below to get started. Register as an individual or get your friends, family, and colleagues involved by starting a fundraising team! Teams are the lifeblood of this event and can get so many involved with this great cause that normally would not have. We also are seeking Corporate Sponsors to get involved with this event and help us reach our fundraising goal.

Date: Monday, June 3, 2024

Location: The Club at Creighton Farms, Aldie, VA

Thank you to all of the players, sponsors, volunteers and supporters for making our 2024 NKF National Capital Area Golf Classic "tee-rific"! On Monday, June 3, over 120+ of Washington DC and the National Capital Area's top business and community leaders convened on The Club at Creighton Farms in Aldie, VA for a competitive, yet fun, day of golf while supporting NKF's continued fight against kidney disease. With the support of all the attendees and our sponsors, we were able to raise over $120,000 for the National Kidney Foundation. On top of that, we are proud to announce that six teams qualified for the NKF National Finals at Pebble Beach in January 2025. Best of luck to our National Capital Area golfers!

Special thank you to our presenting sponsor Planet Fitness, as well as our other sponsors Andersen Tax, Carollo Engineering, Chick-Fil-A, Luxe Travelers Club, Rev'd Indoor Cycling and Valley Health for their support.

Are YOU in the 33%?

1 in 3 adults in the United States are at risk of life-threatening kidney disease. That is over 37 MILLION individuals! Unbelievably, most of these people don't even know they have kidney disease. We want to change that.

If you or a family member have one or more risk factors, go to MinuteForYourKidneys.org today and find out what to do next and how to talk to your doctor.

Some possible risk factors you and your loved ones should be aware of:

  • Family history of kidney disease.

Take the First Step:

The first step to preventing kidney disease is knowing your risk. With one minute to spare, go to minuteforyourkidneys.org and understand your risk for developing kidney disease. When was the last time a minute held so much value?
