Getting evaluated, approved, listed, and transplanted is not simple. It can be a long, complicated journey that involves a lot of steps along the way. It’s easy to get lost despite your patient’s best intentions. The patient will need to set a reasonable pace to go the distance without getting overwhelmed. The Advancing American Kidney Health Initiative (AAKHI), launched in 2019 by the Department of Health and Human Services, increased preemptive referrals for kidney transplant to chronic kidney disease and dialysis patients. This has led providers to more discussions about transplantation with CKD patients. As a result, this has had a positive impact on the number of kidney transplants. CNNT Front Line Talk: The Many, The Proud, The Able – The Technicians

The survey was anonymous, with the participants asked about in which state they work.
