Dr. Pastan is a Professor of Medicine at the Emory University School of Medicine, and Medical Director of the kidney and pancreas transplant program at the Emory Transplant Center. He completed his medical education at Harvard Medical School, and his internal medicine and fellowship training at Boston's Beth Israel Hospital. Dr. Pastan has over 30 years of experience caring for CKD, dialysis, and transplant patients. His research focuses on understanding the reasons for racial, socioeconomic, and geographic disparity in access to renal transplantation, and on conducting quality improvement activities to decrease disparity in transplant access and to improve transplant rates.
