Transplant Advisory Committee Member
Eliot is a transplant nephrologist and founder of Square Knot Health, Inc, which works to improve access to kidney transplant by providing telehealth education and assessment services for recipient and donor candidates, and through advocacy and mentorship for patients and caregivers. He also serves part time as a Transplant Nephrologist at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. Previously Eliot was the Medical Director of Kidney Transplantation at Massachusetts General Hospital, as well as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
As Medical Director Eliot led a restructuring of the MGH program which resulted in a 250% increase in its kidney transplant list size and 100% growth in the number of kidney transplants performed, setting institutional records for deceased and live donor transplants. During his tenure, evaluation time for kidney transplant recipients fell from > 100 days to 11 days. He was a Boston Magazine “Best Doctor” in 2019. Previously Eliot co-founded and served as Chief Medical Officer and Director of HTH Worldwide, Inc. (dba GeoBlue), which provided mobile and web-based tools and services, integrated with international health insurance products, to international students, travelers, and expatriates.
Eliot has served as a Senior Patient Management Medical Director for Aetna and U.S. Healthcare, Inc. He was a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania and a Senior Fellow at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics at The Wharton School. Eliot completed internal medicine residency training on the Osler Medical Service at Johns Hopkins Hospital and fellowship training in nephrology at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Brigham & Women’s Hospital. He holds an M.D. from Harvard Medical School and an A.B. from Harvard College.
