The Council of Renal Nutrition acknowledges the contributions of its national members and local affiliate chapters through annual awards. The Council encourages its members to consider submitting nominations for the awards. The award categories are:

The Joel D. Kopple Award is an annual CRN award honoring an individual who has made significant contributions to the field of renal nutrition. It was initially presented to Joel D. Kopple in 2001. More »

The Outstanding Service Award (OSA) is an annual award given for recognized contributions such as promotion of CRN and it's goals through financial support, lobbying, counseling, patient and professional education materials, providing community support and/or promoting renal nutrition research. The Recognized Renal Dietitian Award is designed to honor a dietitian who has demonstrated exceptional abilities of leadership, creativity and public involvement in the area of renal nutrition. More »

The Regional Recognized Renal Dietician Award is designed to honor a dietitian who has demonstrated exceptional abilities of leadership, creativity and public involvement in the area of renal nutrition within the particular region they reside.More »

Research Grants

The purpose of the CRN Research Grants Program is to further knowledge of renal nutrition factors in clinical nephrology and urology. The grants may cover basic or applied research in renal nutrition, or nutrient supplementation pertinent to renal disease, or development and evaluation of education programs or teaching tools to enhance patient and family understanding the treatment of kidney failure and its nutritional implications, or epidemiology.
